Clikbrix versus the "10 Mistakes to Avoid When Integrating QR Codes"

Our good friend Dan Smigrod CEO of GREAT! Agency with a little help from our other friend Roger Smolski (writer of the 2D Code blog and definitely worth checking out) has recently written a blog post about the top ten mistakes to avoid when integrating QR Codes into your marketing initiatives.

We thought it would be fun and useful to see if Clikbrix was up to the task so we tested the Clikbrix offering against the list of mistakes to avoid.

1. Not Linking the Code to Content That Has Value

The Clikbrix platform allows Real Estate Professionals to create Professional Profile pages that contain detailed information about themselves. They are also able to create Property Listing pages that contain detailed information and images for each of their properties, Google Maps and Street View, social network sharing and much more.  For an Agent and Homebuyer/Renter these pages have extreme value.

2. Not Linking the Scan Code to a Mobile Site
Not only does the Clikbrix platform produce mobile webpages but it produces mobile pages built specifically for Touch Screen devices. Here is an example of an Agent's mobile Clikbrix Professional Page m.clikbrix.com/t/78 and here is an example of a mobile Clikbrix Property Page m.clikbrix.com/t/97

3. Not Tracking Your Scan Codes’ Usage
Clikbrix provides each Agent and Agency with detailed reporting including total scans, unique scans, time of scans, device used, location of scan and more. Click here to see a sample.

4. Not Providing Directions on How to Get a Free Scanner App
We make QR Code readers available from all mobile Clikbrix pages as you can see from the mobile Professional Page above.

5. Not Having at Least Two Modules of Space Around the Scan Code
We have this covered off.  Take a look at our branded QR Code on our homepage.

6. Printing the Scan Code Too Small

Agents can print their Clikbrix codes at 300x300 pixels up to 900x900 pixels. If they need their code larger we can vectorize the file for them.

7. Placing a Scan Code Where There is No Internet Access
We advise agents to place QR Codes on all of their marketing materials. Except for a For Sale sign, that on the rare occasion is placed in an area with no wifi, we expect our codes to work because they are applied on movable touchpoints (I happen to think point is of tremendous value)

8. Not Using a URL Shortener

All Clikbrix codes contain a URL that is a maximum of 14 characters.  This keeps the code simple and ensures higher scan rates across multiple devices and environments.

9. Not Getting Started With Codes

We know that people are hesitant to adopt new technologies.  We also know that setting yourself apart is key in the Real Estate industry. Our FREE 30 DAY TRIAL will allow Real Estate Professionals to try out the Clikbrix system with no strings.  We also feel our $25/month price point (even less if you sign-up for 12 months) which includes unlimited property listings offers a tremendous return on our client's investment.  If Clikbrix is not for you, you may cancel your account at anytime.

10. Using a Free Scan Code Generator for Business
We agree with this as well.  Clikbrix does not sell QR Codes.  We sell experience.  Our Real Estate Professionals are getting a QR Code to place on their For Sale signage, business cards, bus shelter/print ads and anywhere else they choose, but they are also getting a great Mobile Web presence built specifically for touch screen devices.  Our clients are differentiating themselves in one of the most competitive industries out there by providing their customers with the most cutting edge technology available, making the home buying process much more relevant and "On Demand."

11.  Include a Short URL to access content (not in the original list)
This is very important.  Not all phones can read QR Codes and some people (at least at this point) may not be interested in scanning your code.  By including the Short URL we provide you alongside your Clikbrix QR Code you are ensuring that your pages are available to anyone who has mobile internet.  By doing this you are attracting the most visitors possible and not excluding anyone from visiting you or your properties.
